When a multiple-response question has multiple rows and some options are longer than others, the rows are not aligned.  That does not look very professional. Is there any way to align those rows?  See attached.

I don't think so, because this is probably a column based design and not a table.
But maybe someone else has a solution.

But to be honest, this specific question makes no sense with different columns in my opinion. Your design looks really cluttered and it makes things a lot worse to read for your respondents, in my opinion.

Present them all in one column, it is for sure the better solution and a lot more user-friendly.

  • Provide your LS version and where it is installed (own server, uni/employer, SaaS hosting, etc.).
  • Always provide a LSS file (not LSQ or LSG).

You could force the list item heights with JavaScript but I agree with Holch, using a normal list will reduce wrapping and make it more readable.

I have to disagree about "clutter". Time is always written in the form of hh:mm and never as:
hh
mm

So having them on the same line--or better yet, a Time Format for the text box--is easier for a respondent to think about and respond to.

I will look into the idea of using a Table in this context. That is a good idea.

Where is the time formatting issue coming from? I cannot see any time in your screenshot.

Sorry. The initial link did not include the original post and I thought this response was to a different question.

This is a multiple response question.

When you say "table", do you mean Array? I have not found a "Table" option for questions.

I am referring to an underlying table layout (which is what you basically want). But from what I see, the underlying layout for this question type seems to be based on columns, so I don't see how to align the answer options horizontally as if it were a table.

So you will probably have to find a solution via Javascript, as Tpartner suggests.

I still think using various columns for this question is not a good idea, but this is of course up to you.
