thanks for helping. I have a question. I am using the default template. When someone is filling out the survey and forgets to answers questions before going to the next question, the text gets white but the box aroud is not red. So the questions are not readable. You can see it in the attachment.  I can´t explain why that happens, because with my supervisors survey, which is based also on the default template its getting the red box around.
Do you know what happend and how I can fix it?

Quickest solution : use another Theme
better solution : update to last 3.X version.

Do you or somebody else has some other ideas? Perhaps I pressed a wrong botton?

What did not work? Applying an other theme? Usually Limesurvey comes with 3 alternative themes out of the box.

So you are running a 4 year old installation, no updates, no bug fixes, no security patches since then. In addition to that, LS 2.5x was probably one of the worst releases of Limesurvey.

I think in times of GDPR and other privacy laws keeping an installation of a software, that per definition needs to be available on the internet and potentially collects private data of respondents, up to date is very essential.

In any way, please describe what "didn't work" more detailed, otherwise it is difficult to help.

I already feared it would be a University installation. Unfortunately, many universities do not do regular updates. I am not talking about implementing every single update, but some (like yours) install Limesurvey and then never touch it again for years.

This sounds odd, because this would mean all the themes (to which one did he switch?) would have the same layout, which doesn't make sense.

Any chance that you can export a survey with just the question where this happens (copy your survey, delete everything except the question where the problem appears) and upload it here?

On the other hand: I don't have such an old installation and the themes have changed over the time. So I couldn't even test it.

So the best solution would be to activate this shortened survey (you can change the questions as well, if they are confidential) and put the link here. Then we might be able to have a look what is happening.

And no, you can't do the necessary updates, that is something the persons responsible for the Limesurvey installation at your university would have to do.

For me survey does not exist. But I guess Denis has already solved your issue.
