Hello,
can somebody explain this note in the Tailored Questions, Answers, and Reports part of the ExpressionScript Engine - Quick start guide?

Note: Dynamic tailoring may not work if answer options are made available in select boxes on the same question page. This results from the fact that tailoring inserts a <span> tag which is not valid inside select options.

I'm trying to translate the page in my mother language but I actually don't understand this statement.

By the way, is it possible to "translate the pictures", i.e. adding different pictures for your language in order to show the same examples but in Italian?
(I know this is not the right forum for this last question, sorry for the off topic.)

Thanks a lot.

If you use tayloring, like piping things from previous questions into the current questions, it might cause problems when you use the dropdown layout (select boxes), because they use a "span" tag and seems like expression script doesn't work within those span tags. That is how I understand it.

The <select> elements do not use <span> elements.

The note refers to the fact that Expression Script tailored text that originates within a single page is wrapped in <span> elements and these are invalid HTML within the <select> <option> elements.

thank you all, I think it is now clear.

What about pictures in the manual? Is there a way to have a different picture for the translated manual page, to include screenshots in my language instead of the default ones?

@tpartner
you're welcome, it's the last I could do. I hope that would be useful.

I think this is a good idea, but I am not sure if this is possible. It should, but before you do it, we should check if changing the image won't change it for the other languages. It shouldn't, but who knows...
