Next button only working the fourth time

Hi,

I have the weird problem that the next button on the first page is only working on the 4th click. The first three clicks it just reloads the first page again. And this only occurs the first time a user opens the survey, the second time the next button on the first page works fine. There are no errors in the console or the network tab in the browser.

Where does this happen? While survey taking?
What version of LS is used?
What theme is used?
What browser is used?

Help us to help you!
  • Provide your LS version and where it is installed (own server, uni/employer, SaaS hosting, etc.).
  • Always provide a LSS file (not LSQ or LSG).

Theme fruity
I tested a couple of browsers (Safari on iOS, Chrome on desktop esp.)

Can you add a LSS file where this happens?

By the way: I would not recommend LS 4.x for productive use yet. Just too many bugs. Not sure yet if we can consider the problem described by you as a bug yet. But there are plenty of other open bugs that I would consider critical enough to stay with LS 3.x at the moment for production. For testing of course LS 4.x.

You must be German, based on the use of "sensible" here... ;-)

I can totally understand that you do not want to share the original survey.

You can delete everything else and put different text in those parts that belong to groups and questions that we need to see.

Because if we have to create a survey on our own to test, the problem might not appear or might not be able to reproduce it. If I find some time I might create such a survey, but chances that someone helps is a lot higher if you provide a LSS file where the problem appears for you. This reduces the risk for us to create a survey and test it, without being able to encounter the problem. At the end of the day, we are volunteers here and we do this in our spare time.

Ok, no LSS yet, but managed to isolate the problem. It only occurs in Safari on iOS or macOS. If that helps somehow...

Well, I couldn't reproduce it anyway then, because I don't have access to iOS or macOS.

Reverting the PHP version from 7.4.2 to 7.3.9 actually solved the problem. It is working fine with PHP 7.0/7.2/7.3, just 7.4 seems to cause that problem.
