I can't find the version number, it's not at the bottom of the screen (see screenshot), I downloaded it two weeks ago.

No one can tell what you "downloaded 2 weeks ago".

If you haven't changed the footer of the LS back end, there should be the version number on the bottom right side.

Probably someone deleted the footer because it contains a Limesurvey logo with a link to donate, etc. But it is not recommendable to do so, as we see now. It is pretty hard to give any hints without know what version you are running.

Even if you want to delete the other information in the footer, at least keep the version so you can consult it quickly.

But, if you click on the button "Comfort Update - Stay safe and up to date" you can also consult your version of Limesurvey and post it here.

But looking at your screenshot, my first guess would be that you are using a Microsoft browser, which from what I know are currently not supported for the LS backend. Try with Chrome or Firefox an see what happens.

But this is just an educated guess. The information provided is not enough to say something more definite. Just using my crystal ball and some imagination.

Sorry, I was too quick. You can NOT necessarily see which version you have within the Comfort Update page, but you can see if there is a newer version.

Just curious: did you already activate the survey? When a survey is activated, you cannot add groups or questions.

If it is activated, de-activate and you should be able to add groups & questions.

I see two options:

1. write an error report at community.limesurvey.org/bug-tracker/
2. install version 3.22.28, which is very stable community.limesurvey.org/downloads/

If you really want to help the community: do both!

I reinstalled version 3.22.28 from scratch and it's working now

Please do not forget to make a bug report for LS 4.x so this can be registered and fixed.

If you have done so already, it would be great if you could post the link to the bug report here, so we can follow it better.
