Show the "other" value of a multiple choice question was created by wahoowa
Hey,
I have set up a multiple choice question with the answer option "other" turned on.
Now I would like to display the value that the respondents typed in in a following questions.
I typed in this expression as a placeholder {INSERTANS:477579X19X130other}
(477579 is the survey ID, 19 group ID, and 130 the questionID), but in the following question the word "other" and
not the value the respondents typed in for other is displayed.
My question is, if it is possible to display the value that the respondents typed in for other and if so, what I need to change in the expression I used as a placeholder.
Thank you in advance!

Hi,
In my opinion you shouldn't use this {INSERTANS} stuff.
For years we have the option to use equations, which makes life really easy.
What do I do in these cases?
I activate the survey and enter some well defined data.
Then I have a look at the answer table to see what is the correct syntax.
Here you see, it's "Q1_other".
So, whereever you want to display it, just enter {Q1_other} and you get

Many thanks for your quick reply!
Using {QID_other} worked out perfectly
