I have installed LimeSurvey on a cPanel server
I have created a survey with 3 questions
I have a CPDB with 3 participants
I have imported the 3 particpants to the survey
I am using the default templates
When I click "Send invitations" I get a page with one word "Forbidden" (see attached)
I have checked the SMTP settings and tried several SMTP servers and get the same result each time.
I have tried changing the permissions (as advised in the manual) and get the same result
The survey is NOT activated.
I tried with a previous survey that WAS activated and got the same result. I then deleted that survey and created a new one.
I have read the manual very carefully
I see that several other people have had the same problem but none of the ansers has helped me.
Thank you for responding.
The permissions (for all folders) are currently 755. I changed them to 777 with the same result ("Forbidden").
Yes, it was installed via Softalicious.
Something related to forbidden url … look at error log in cpanel.

Thank you for your response.
I get a blank error log - the mouse turns to a circle with a line through it.
I guess I need to contact the server provider....
@LouisGac Not "clearly" enough for me. If the error occurs when I click a button in LimeSurvey, and an error occurs, it is reasonable to start looking there.
well knowing that you're using cPanel, I guess you're using a VPS or a dedicated server... So your provider will probably tell you that you must configure it by yourself.
**SOLVED**
I have posted details here for anyone else with the same problem (and for me next time I create a survey).
Our web server provider found a rule in the web application firewall which was potentially identifying something in limesurvey as malicious.
They whitelisted two rules and the problem was resolved.
