Hi,
I'm using version 3.0RC... just upgraded from 2.72. As you might guess... my previous custom templates no longer are usable.

I am trying to modify the "default" template. I used the "extend" button and created a copy. I am now trying to change the color of the bar at the top of the page. Right now, it is a dark blue... I would like to change it to black.

Can anyone help me with this? What file do I need to edit?

Thanks,
CGuest

Sorry, we cannot offer any help with an old release candidate version. Please upgrade to the latest version.

Why would you upgrade to 3.0 RC, a version that is not considered stable, while there is also 3.4.x released?

Because... I used "ComfortUpdate" and that was the version that it offered me.

Now that you are at 3.0 RC you should check again. It most probably offers you the latest version.

It does offer 3.4.2 (180223)... however the update keeps failing.

Unknown error. Please contact the LimeSurvey team.

So... for the time... I am stuck at the RC build. Just figured I would go ahead and try to work on updating my custom templates.

The problem is that in the newer versions, there is no "default" template so we have no way of knowing what HTML elements and styles to target.

I now have a clean copy of the latest version "3.4.2+180223".
I am now working out of the "bootswatch" template.

Can you help me with this template?

Thanks,
CGuest

Okay... I think I figured it out.

I edited the custom.css file for my custom template and added the following:

.navbar-default {
background-color: #000000;
}

Thanks,
CGuest

Yes, that will do it.

There are also many built-in Bootswatch themes that you can choose from.

Oh... that is great to know. I'm assuming there is no way to preview all of those without going through the upload process??

Thanks,

No, but this will narrow them down - bootswatch.com/
