I have to report some bad news about this thread ...

I have the same issue filtering a normal array (simple array - 10 response - 27 subquestion) no JS or other questions in the group ...

it take from 2 to 5 second to the red dot to appear...

Usual testing parameter: default theme and isolated question (alone in the group)
tried to use answer relevance field instead the filter, same result...

any hint ?

I reduced the survey to only the few question in test (i noticed something, with "questionxquestion" type of que it actually perform better)

sorry, in the first question choose "lo conosco" , the first column, to popolate the next question
