I'm working off my first Survey and I have problem witch I can't solve.

For example

Q1 - drop down list or radio button (only one answer is possible)

You chose Q1

And the display Q2 - but I would like to narrow the possible answer from ex. drop down list to 2 or 3 possible answers

Q1 - (four answers) : A, B, C, D
Q2 - (eight answers): a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h.
if you chose Q1-B you can answer (see) Q2-c or Q2-d

Depends on your version of limesurvey. I think from ls 2.05 onwards you can use relevance equations with subquestions/answer options and this way you can show/hide certain answer options based on answers to previous questions quite easily.

I believe relevance is only available for sub-questions. In this case, where there are only four answers in Q1, I would create 4 versions of Q2 and display those with relevance.

Ohh, i didnt know that. Weird, why would we have this great feature for matrix and multiple answer questions, but not for list questions????

Relevance for sub question is NOT the same than answer.

With subquestion : easy forcing QCODE_SQ01 to be null
With answer : QCODE must be allowed.

And actually we don't validate answer code (you can hack HTML to set an answer to anythink you want)

OK, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be great to have relevance for answer options. Because at the end of the day the subquestions from a multiple answer question and the answers of a single choice question are pretty similar. For me they are both answers, actually.

We can discuss the academic differences between the two, but I don't think it is really relevant. I just wanted to say that it would be great if we could have the relevance equation also for single choice questions.

Yes, i think too it can be interesting, and more : really control answer in PHP.
But we must rewrite completely filter for answer and PHP control for answer. This explain why it not exist actually.
