Which universities are using LimeSurvey? was created by c_schmitz
An Australian user wrote to us: "Hello! Do you know which universities are currently using LimeSurvey? We use LimeSurvey at our university, and a few schools are looking into licensing options with another product. I would like to provide the schools with feedback on LimeSurvey and why they should be using it and refrain from pay high fees to a 3rd partylicensed product. "

Please help! If you know that your university is offering LimeSurvey as a survey tool please add your unversity name and your experiences to this thread!

Best regards

Hi from the sunny Spain.
We are using LS here at Universidad Politecnica de Valencia ( www.upv.es ) for quality surveys mainly. I really don't know if any teacher is currently teaching this product to students, but this will be great.
Our size is 40000 students (aprox) and 6000 employees.
I've proposed a couple of times a donation to this project. Be patient, crisis is for all.

We're not in Australia, but we use LimeSurvey here at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale ( www.siuc.edu ).It is currently used through Instructional Support Services at Morris Library ( www.lib.siu.edu ). The administrator is none other than me, Steve Mitchell. We have been using LimeSurvey for a little over a year now and the students, faculty and staff seem to be pleased with the survey. I am still learning the ins and outs of it, but I have received tremendous support whenever I have needed it. Keep up the good work!

Hello,
I'm also not at a university in Australia, but my department has been using LimeSurvey for a couple of years. I'm at Texas A&M University, my department is Public Policy Research Institute. We've been able to increasingly use LimeSurvey to replace surveys we'd been doing by paper (major cost savings there), and the software keeps improving all the time. Since it's open source I've got a good amount of control over the surveys I program. I definitely recommend giving LimeSurvey a try for a while before trying something expensive.

We use LimeSurvey at the College of Public Health, Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. I've used it to survey students about their interest in the program, survey health commissioners, and we will soon use it to survey students about their patterns of alcohol use.

I use it on a research project I am involved with outside of Kent State where we are having someone transcribe lengthy interviews into LimeSurvey. It works like a charm.

Hi. This from Dalat International School in Malaysia. I am using it on a relatively regular basis to get feedback from my students and to research my students' academic habits. It is a GREAT tool . . . why pay when the best things in life are free?

Some more input from me: I worked as a software developer for a German company which offers software for universities. About 80% of German universities use this software and at the latest release an interface to connect Limesurvey to the software is offered. So theoretically hundreds of German universities will be able to use Limesurvey in the near future.

Hi,

At Supelec, France, ( www.supelec.fr ) we are using LimeSurvey for a wide range of applications:
* internal student surveys (about the library, course evaluation,...)
* internal survey for employees
* satisfaction survey for our partners
* study on our students professionnal integration, ...
* Phoning interviews...

In fact we are not only using LimeSurvey but also contributing new features, that's how I joined the project core team.

Regards,
Thibault
