Your LimeSurvey version: Cloud 6.1
Own server or LimeSurvey hosting:
Survey theme/template:
==================My company recently started working with LimeSurvey, and we are still figuring things out.We create custom themes for our customers. We have done this five times now, plus one theme for our own company style. However, the theme configuration looks like a complete mess. All of the themes are called
Code:
fruity_twentythree
because they are copies of that theme. None of them are in the correct “extends” folder.I want to give them logical names and maybe make them child themes of our company’s main style. I would have expected this to be a one-click process, but I cannot find any way to do it.AI suggested copying the theme, looking for a configuration file, editing it, and re-uploading it, but that seems like complete overkill for what I am trying to do.My main question is: why is this so hard to do? It seems very user-unfriendly to me. Is there something I missed?

Generally creating new themes is something that people rarely do. Before the possibility to edit in the GUI, you had to do it manually in the folders. You get the file, edit them, copy them into the right folder, etc. This is generally how web development works or worked.

then there came the Theme editor which made editing themes a lot more user friendly.

I am sure Limesurvey would be happy for people to contribute to make the theme editor more user friendly.

But currently I think resources focus on other fields that might be deemed more important. As I said: Most Limesurvey users probably never even touched the standard themes and others change / edit themes on rare occasions.

But yes, it seems like you need to do some manual labor still in those cases.

I haven't done any work on themes lately, but while we always say refrain from AI when it comes to Limesurvey, in this case the description sounds about right to me.

Hi

the theme configuration looks like a complete mess.

Can you please show what is the complete mess in your opinion.
I see this.
As the themes are ordered alphabetically it is up to you

Or do you talk about the parent theme that is displayed  as title.
This you can change in the "config.xml" of the theme

This is more or less what your AI suggested.
And I should say: This is a minor issue.

But what do you mean by

None of them are in the correct “extends” folder

What is the "extends" folder.?
All extended themes you find in "upload/themes/survey"
