What is your actual question?

You want that a question that has been set by the answer to a previous question (via some script) is read only and can not be changed? Is that what you want?

My suggestion: simply hide this question via condition.

Help us to help you!
 • Provide your LS version and where it is installed (own server, uni/employer, SaaS hosting, etc.).
 • Always provide a LSS file (not LSQ or LSG).

That came to my mind, too.
Why do you want to show this question?

If we misunderstood, please send an example.

Ok, generally, I personally don't like to confuse my respondents by this. I either ask the real age and then (if needed for quota or screenouts) create a hidden question with the age brackets, or I just ask the age bracket, if I don't really need the real age.

But anyway, you will have your reasons I guess.

I have no solution for making the age bracket question non editable (I bet Joffm has one), but if it is just to show the age bracket, you could just use a text display question and show the age bracket people are in this way. Text display questions are non-editable by default.

As said before, you can display the age bracket in a text display question, you can directly show it in the question itself

If you insist in displaying this absolutely unnecessary readonly question

I bet Joffm has one

Ach, holch

But, yes, I have one.

You may use "bootstrap disabled radios"
getbootstrap.com/docs/5.3/forms/checks-radios/#disabled-1

Here an example.
Imagine this first question as a numerical input of the age

then you calculate the age bracket and show this as disabled radios

Be careful with disabling the radio inputs. That may prevent the data from being recorded.

@tpartner,
therefore it's only something that looks like a question, but in a text display question
