==================
Hello,I'm currently building a questionnaire in LimeSurvey (v6.x) and I'm facing a structural limitation that I would like to overcome.I want to implement the following logic:
  1. Question 1 (already implemented):
I'm using the "Text List" question type (aka "Short Free Text – flexible rows") that allows respondents to enter the names of as many organizations/stakeholders as they want, dynamically adding new rows (e.g. one stakeholder per line).
  2. Question 2 (what I want to achieve):
I would like to display a matrix-type question where:
    • Each row corresponds to one of the stakeholder names entered in Question 1
    • There are 3 columns (e.g. ImportanceInfluenceCurrent Collaboration) rated using a Likert-type scale (1–7).

My question:Is there any way in LimeSurvey to dynamically create a matrix with a number of rows that matches the number of stakeholder names entered in a previous text list question?Any suggestions, insights, or examples would be greatly appreciated!Thank you in advance,
Tiago

No need to post twice. Due to enormous issues with spam bots, all posts from new users need to be approved by a moderator. I'll delete your second post.

Help us to help you!
  • Provide your LS version and where it is installed (own server, uni/employer, SaaS hosting, etc.).
  • Always provide a LSS file (not LSQ or LSG).
Note: I answer at this forum in my spare time, I'm not a LimeSurvey GmbH employee.

Hi,

Is there any way in LimeSurvey to dynamically create a matrix with a number of rows that matches the number of stakeholder names entered in a previous text list question?

quite easy.
You create the array with as many subquestions as there are in your question 1
You pipe in the name of the stakeholders in the subquestion text  {Q1_SQ001},  {Q1_SQ002}, ...
You set a condition on the subquestions of the array that it is only displayed if this subquestion is answered in the first question "!is_empty(Q1_SQ001"

But this; hm.

There are 3 columns (e.g. ImportanceInfluenceCurrent Collaboration) rated using a Likert-type scale (1–7).

How do you want to display this question?
Usually there are not 3 columns, but 21.

There's a way to use an array(text) with three dropdowns.
But unfortunately you did not answer the questions at the beginning. So we do not know if you are allowed to do this.
