Dear Forum,

I'm a LimeSurvey Newbie and use LimeSurvey Cloud Version 6.10.2.

I have two existing surveys in my account and I was wondering if there is an option to merge/copy both of them into one new survey? I would like to copy the first survey  (so that i have the questions of this one on top) and then copy the second survey, that I have the questions from the second survey below the ones from the first survey.

So far I only found the option to copy or import one single survey, but it doesn't let me merge two or more surveys into one.  Alternatively I found the option to use and end-link to redirect to the next survey.

My general issue is that my survey needs to be translated into several languages and many of the AI-translated things need manual correction. Since we have surveys for different groups of participants but with similar questions,  it would speed up my translations if I could just copy/merge the already manually corrected questions from the already translated surveys together like I need them for the next groups of participants and just translate the additional questions afterwards.
Is there any option to do this?

Thanks so much in advance!

There is no GUI function that allows to merge two surveys.

The only idea that I have is to export both surveys as LSS file, then merge them manually. But for this, you would have to check the structure of both surveys and see which elements to copy and which not.

If one survey has only a few question groups, you could try to export those question groups as LSG files and import them into the other survey (make sure that they both have the same base language, or the import won't work).

Help us to help you!
  • Provide your LS version and where it is installed (own server, uni/employer, SaaS hosting, etc.).
  • Always provide a LSS file (not LSQ or LSG).
Note: I answer at this forum in my spare time, I'm not a LimeSurvey GmbH employee.
