Hello,

I have a multiple question with randomized order and I would like to fix an exclusive option "none of these"  at the end, before the option other

I tried to put the script in the source of question using the code in the following link (LS 3.X)
Workarounds: Manipulating a survey at runtime using Javascript - LimeSurvey Manual

Thanks
Domec

Hi,
why didn't you not only ignore the questions at the beginning but removed them?

If you used the correct script (28.3) and you have the rights to insert javascript, you should show us what you did exactly by sending a lss export.

Sorry but i don't understand what do you mean with "why didn't you not only ignore the questions at the beginning but removed them"

In addition, i don't know if i have the right to insert javascript, how can i check that?

Thank you

I personally don't think it makes sense to have "Other" after none of these, but anyway.

What Joffm means is that when you start a topic, there is text with questions about your Limesurvey Version, where it is hosted (Limesurvey Pro or hosted by you, etc), what survey theme you use, etc.

To know if you can insert Javascript it helps to know where your LS installation is hosted. E.g. universities usually have the XSS filter on, so you probably can't use Javascript.

How do you know if you can use Javascript? Have a look at the manual:
www.limesurvey.org/manual/Workarounds:_M...tc..29_in_LimeSurvey

There is an example for a simple alert there that you can insert in your survey and see if it works or not.

@holch told you about these questions already

If you enter your script, save the question and open it again,... and the script is still there and not distroyed, it is very probably fine.

Well,
you still didn't show us what exactly you entered (you only repeat "it doesn't work".
So, which settings do you have in your script.
There are only two: number of fixed items and handling of "others"

So, please show this.

As already said: Send a lss export of this question

If the alert doesn't work, then most probably the XSS-Filter is on in your installation.

So either you ask the person responsible for the installation (we still don't know which version you use, where it is hosted, etc) or you will have to live without the possiblity to manipulate this with Javascript.

And what does this even mean? :-)

Either it works, or it doesn't.

One last word:
Why do you display an answer option "None of these"?
If there is an "Other" option there is no reason at all to answer "None of these".

This only makes sense if you have a closed number of objects, like
"Which color do you prefer?"
Red
Blue
Yellow
Green
Here a "None of these" is essential; I could prefer none of them but "Black".

But if there is the open option "Other", nobody can select "None of these". Anybody is able to enter his preferred color.

Maybe people who say "Oh, I like all colors to the same degree; this is a question that I cannot answer....
But such respondents you should remove from the analysis later.

It is multiple response anyway, you can just leave all empty, if none apply.
