Yes, this is possible. Of course, with a free text there is always a risk that people write nonesense or more than one retailer, which then will create nonesense in the second question, but I assume that you are aware of this risk.

Given that your first question has the question code "Q1" you can pipe the answer from question 1 into the text of question 2 by using Expression Manager like this:

Q2 Which of the following items did you buy from {Q1}?

By the way, you should update your Limesurvey installation. It hasn't received any updates, bug fixes and security fixes for almost 2 years now.
