Please help us help you and fill where relevant:
Your LimeSurvey version: LimeSurvey Community Edition Version 5.4.8+221024
Own server or LimeSurvey hosting: Amazon EC2 - Bitnami AMI
Survey theme/template: Vanilla (Customized)
==================

Hello!

I was looking for where to find the "max_input_vars" Variable so that I could change the value to allow all of my responses to be exported. It says it is located in php.ini, but I cant find the location or how to access that. I am using the Bitnami AMI ran on an EC2 instance.

If anyone knows how to access this it would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

I doubt that you have access to the php installation of your EC2.

The Bitnami website gives very little information on what is in the Limesurvey package. But my guess would be that there is a LAMP stack included. But as I don't have any Bitnami AMI running on Amazon (and in a virtual machine things might be different), it is difficult to say.

Can you access this installation somehow? FTP? Console? What do you see on your installation?

  • Provide your LS version and where it is installed (own server, uni/employer, SaaS hosting, etc.).
  • Always provide a LSS file (not LSQ or LSG).

Probably any Bitnami resource is the best match for you:

docs.bitnami.com/general/apps/limesurvey...-default-config-php/

I'm going to see if I can figure out how to FTP into my instance and view the files. My problem has been accessing the files as a whole, trying to figure out how to go about that.

Thank you!

You don't think it's possible to change the variable then?

I think it must be possible, given the link I have provided. And here a link from within the link:

docs.bitnami.com/general/apps/limesurvey...se-upload-limit-php/

So you probably need to SSH into your instance and the php.ini should be found here:

/opt/bitnami/php/etc/php.ini

Thank you so much!

I SSH into my instance, found the php.ini file using your specified path, and changed the value of max_input_vars. I'm in the process of resetting my instance to see if the changes worked! Fingers crossed.

Thank you!
