Please help us help you and fill where relevant:
Your LimeSurvey version: V5.4.1
Own server or LimeSurvey hosting: Cloud
Survey theme/template: Fruity Theme ( fruity)
==================
i wish to find out if there is a way to embed website  inside Limesurvey where participants would use an interactive learning material and  continue  the survey when done with the interactive material on the website but still inside LS. I tried following recommended solutions from forums.limesurvey.org/forum/can-i-do-thi...in-limesurvey-iframe . but it does not seem to work. i do not own the website and i am currently using the free version of LS. Is the free version limited in that regard?

but it does not seem to work.

Please be more specific. What does not work? What happens? What exactly have you done and how?

Is the free version limited in that regard?

No, there shouldn't be any limitations.

Help us to help you!
  • Provide your LS version and where it is installed (own server, uni/employer, SaaS hosting, etc.).
  • Always provide a LSS file (not LSQ or LSG).
Note: I answer at this forum in my spare time, I'm not a LimeSurvey GmbH employee.

I do not see an issue with the standard call.
Code:
<iframe allowfullscreen="TRUE" frameborder="0" height="300" src="https://www.myserver.de/myWebsite.com" width="100%"></iframe>

Two examples

IF the website allows embedding.
E.g. limesurvey.org shows this (German)

But here a button is inserted my tis message to show the page in a new tab.

I tried following recommended solutions from ...

As @holch: What exactly did you try. Please show it.

Okay i did input the codes suggested using LS url in the old suggestions again and it is working now. I did double checked the settings at global too, however it looks like the website i am trying to embed into LS does not support embedding. this is what i get when use  the code below

<div class="embed-responsive embed-responsive-16by9"><object data=" uwmsk.org/shoulderus/InfraspinatusTrans2.0.html " style="overflow:auto;border:4px solid black" type="text/html">

@Joffm thanks very much, all your codes work now for me. but i think the website does now allow embedding looking at the screen shot i posted earlier so i am think about going with your old suggestion some years back    <span style="font-size:20px;"><em><a href=" www.limesurvey.org " target="_blank"> Go to Game . This way when they are done they can go back to LS and continue the survey. i am using the code in question source code.

I'm actually trying to do something very similar, and I have the same question. I'd like participants to interact with an external website as part of the survey and then continue with the remaining questions without leaving LimeSurvey. I also tried the iframe approach mentioned in the forums, but I couldn't get it working either.

I also have the same question about whether this is a limitation of the free version or if it's related to the external website itself. Since you don't own the website, I wonder if it's blocking embedding through security headers like X-Frame-Options or Content-Security-Policy. It would be great if someone could clarify whether this is supported in the free version or if there's another recommended way to integrate external interactive content into a LimeSurvey workflow.

Hi,

I also tried the iframe approach mentioned in the forums, but I couldn't get it working either.

You should at least show exactly your approach. Best a lss export of the survey.
Because I do not see an issue in the free plan.
Either you get the embedded website

or - if the website doesn't allow this -  an error message

On the other side it is possible that iframes are not allowed in "new" free installations.
You see I installed my free plan about ten years ago.

Hi,

I tried following recommended solutions from forums.limesurvey.org/forum/can-i-do-thi...bsite-in-limesurvey- iframe . but it does not seem to work.

And I answered that I do not see an issue.
I showed it (two screenshots) and the two outcomes - either success or the error message if the site does not allow embedding.

Nevertheless, you only need to create an iframe (just click the icon) and follow the wizard.

But you did not show what exactly you are doing. At least you should send a lss export of this relevant question
