Multiple responses, same device was created by 851760
Hello all,

I currently have a survey set up using LimeSurvey 2.64.3 (I think is an older version now?) which is what my institution uses.

My query is whether or not it is possible to run an anonymous survey from the same device multiple times? For context, I know that through trial runs, when I went through the survey on my phone or laptop, another individual was not able to then conduct the same survey using the same device.

My plan is to use a single tablet (iPad most likely) to get the general public to complete my survey in passing to increase the number of respondents. However, I can't seem to find a way to allow this to happen. Is there a setting that can be changed to make this possible?

Apologies if this is a very straightforward solution. I am very much a beginner to LimeSurvey!

Many thanks

It is not only an "older version", I would consider it "ancient". And the branch you are using was one of the worst releases of Limesurvey, full of bugs, almost daily new releases due to so many bugs. Actually, in my opinion, this version should have never been used in a productive enviroment in the first place. Using this still today (over 5 years later) doesn't make it better. This little monster was released on 27/03/2017:

forums.limesurvey.org/forum/news/109838-...uild-170327-released

And this isn't even the latest version of this release, which ended somewhere at 2.7x.

So maybe you should let your institution know that they really, really, really need to make an update, ideally to the latest version of LS5. But I know how this goes. Universities are really, really bad at updating.

You need to add &NEWTEST=Y to the end of the URL:
forums.limesurvey.org/forum/design-issue...e-url-with-newtest-y

Help us to help you!
  • Provide your LS version and where it is installed (own server, uni/employer, SaaS hosting, etc.).
  • Always provide a LSS file (not LSQ or LSG).
Note: I answer at this forum in my spare time, I'm not a LimeSurvey GmbH employee.

Thank you so much for the information, both in terms of the (very) outdated version of LimeSurvey and also for the resolution of my problem. I will take everything you have said and let my university know that an update is very much overdue.
