==================
Dear Lime Survey,

I have four groups. In my second group, there is ONE question with a "yes, no, or somewhat" answer depending on their level of knowledge!

If they answer YES or SOMEWHAT, I would like them to answer the questions in Group 4
If they answer NO, I would like them to answer the questions in Group 3.

How do I do this in lime survey???

Lost Masters Student.

The easiest way would be to create a condition for "yes" or "somewhat" on a question, which doesn't have a condition already, by using limesurveys "point and click condition" - tool. (Sorry, i don't use the english limesurvey, i guess the button is named "set condition" in the questions overview)

After, go to the edit window of that question and copy the condition you just created from the field "relevance equation".

Go to the edit window of group 4 and paste it into "relevance equation" there.

Do the same with "no" and group 3, and don't forget to delete the condition on the question you used to get your copy pasta afterwards.

PS: Unless you want to work with Limesurvey in the future, then you should read the documentation. It's quite easy to write conditions on your own in Limesurvey, and faster as that workaround as well. ;)

Hi,
supposing your question is called Q2, is of type "list(radio)"
and it is coded

(Unfortunately you did not say anything about this.)

then you set the relevance equation of group 3 to
Q2==3
meaning: Group 3 is displayed if Q2 was answered "no" = code 3

and for group 4 you may say
either Q2!=3  (Q2 is NOT 3)
or Q2<3 (Q2 is less than 3)
or Q2==1 or Q2==2 (Q2 is 1 or Q2 is 2)

Always remember:

Relevance equation is a logical term that either is TRUE or FALSE.
If TRUE the subquestion/question/group is displayed, if FALSE not.

Dear Joffm,

Thank you! Yes, the knowledge question is list/radio. I tried your forumla and when I click yes or no. The Survey ends and now there are no groups appearing? Under group edit, I do not have a relevance box, just a box which is called "condition" ? Am I supposed to enter the relevance. equation for each question in the group 3 and 4?

How did you code the answer options?

just a box which is called "condition" ?

This is the disadvantage if you do not answer the initial questions about version, hosting, theme.
The name of these boxes were changed short time ago.
And as long as I do not know which version you are using, I stay to the "old" names.

LimeSurvey Cloud
Version 5.3.19

The questions in group 3 and 4 are "array" style, so I only have answers in the "answer options" with codes 1-5.

The question was, how is your list(radio) coded?
What is the code of this question?
You should really show more of youtr approach.

Q2 is coded
1= Yes
2= Some Knowledge
3= No

Relevance equations all = 1
Condition for group (2) is 1

Group 3 is set with Q2=3
and subquestion is blank but with relevance equation 1 but the answer options are codes 1-5 with strongly disagree etc.....condition for the questions is also 1

The same goes for Group 4 except I put Q2!=3
