Array by column: each row only one column. was created by tammo
Please help us help you and fill where relevant:
Your LimeSurvey version: 5.3.15
Own server or LimeSurvey hosting: own
Survey theme/template: Owm version of Vanilla
==================
I want each row to choose maximum 1 column, not multiple.
So not:
But each workshop (up to three workshops) can only choose one column.
I attached the .lss for you to experiment with.

Have you tried using unique(self) as a validation expression script?
That should normally do the trick.

I have a hard time getting this to work:
using Array by column: do I add this as just like you wrote as the question validation? Then it does not work. I can choose multiple workshops as a first choice
using normal Array this does not work either. I can still choose for 1 workshop "first choice" as well as "second choice" as well as "third choice"
But I can only do this in question preview, because group preview will hide both questions.

In your attached LSS export I see no unique(self) in the "question validation equation" fields. In both questions you have added it to the display condition instead of the validation.
