I would like to use the bounce processing functionality, but there seems to be no remote control api method available to trigger this function.
Is there any other way to do this programmatically?

The bounce email can be set only once for the whole installation.
This is something you setup once and then leave it.

You are right, I only need to set it up once. But the actual processing requires a manual 'Start Bounce Processing' call from the GUI, and as far as I can tell from the docs this function needs to be run after all bulk invitations. www.limesurvey.org/manual/Email_bounce_tracking_system


The api already has the ability to send out invitations, then it seems logical that also the bounce processing can be activated via api (and the results retrieved - although you can already do that through the participant details calls).

If this already runs automatically I'd be very happy, but I can't find any evidence it works like that. 

As far as I can see, this is not currently possible through the API.

Would there be any way to extend the api myself?
