Is there a way to bind the results of the three waves so we can see development per respondent, even when they are anonymous?
I guess you know the answer...
So in general the answer is "No", because you need to have some kind of ID that matches both results.
Now, we can think of some "workarounds":
1) Provide the respondent with a code / ID after the first survey (T0) that they have to insert at some point in T1 and T2. Problem: Will people remember their ID?
2) Let them create an ID based on certain personal data. E.g. the first 3 letters of their first name + the day of their birth + the last 2 letters of their mothers maiden name + etc.
You will then get something like MAR21SCH.
Advantage: People do not need to remember or save an ID. And in theory if you choose the data carefully, this should not change and always be the same.
Disadvantage:
- You have no control over the ID and there might be dublicates. I guess depending on how you "design" this code, you can reduce this risk quite a bit.
- People might still mess this up, intentionally or unintenionally. But this can happen with the code as well.
3) Create a digital finger print. Not sure how unique you can make this within the limits of Limesurvey and legality.
Just a couple of ideas.
