Hi,

I used ComfortUpdate to get my CE application updated to Version 5.1.15+211011; since then all text editors have stopped loading.

I first noticed this with the e-mail templates, and then realised questions, groups - no text editors were loading. Instead I just get the bobbing rectangles 'loading' graphic (refer screenshot)

Any idea what could be causing this? The application is hosted on a Windows VPS server, and I was not facing any such issues prior to the update (was previously on version 4.something)

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I spoke to a few people who in turn did their own research, and discovered it was a simple enough solve - Had to clear assets cache from the General Settings under Global in Configuration.

Apologies for the spam in case this was a trivial issue.

Thanks you ether :)

Yup, the asset cache would have also been my first bet.

Yes : but update must fix it itself ?

Is the Asset cache responsible for the GUI? I thought that is responsible for the survey assets?

This texteditor loading issue is often resolved, when clearing the browser cache. LimeSurvey is demanding that from the user.
I never see that with other webtools (e.g. WordPress or Nextcloud). They seem to ensure that expiration of browser cache is forced when an updated version is in place.

Asset cache is reponsible of all assets :) not only surveys.

I think package use asset manager, but maybe framework asset manager only ?

PS : reset assets in GUI fix the issue last time i have it.
