Ranking answer language issue was created by nils
Dear forum,
in a multlanguage setting (German main language w English as second language, LimeSurvey Version 4.6.3 ) I want to use the first ranked value of ranking question "Rank". When specifying {Rank_1.shown} I get the appropriate value, but in English language only, independent of the specified user language. All other questions show correct language behaviour. Language specific answer options are double checked. Any ideas?
Thank you and best regards,
Nils

I have created a minicode example for illustration. The language mismatch occurs with version 4.6.3 Versoin 3.27.3 shows correct behavior. A bug?
Again, thanks in advance for any helpful insight !

Have you tested with the latest release? (LS 5.0.5 - LS 4.x has changed to 5.x).

No, I don't have any other option. Do you recommend me to ask my webmaster to update to 5.x?

I don't know if it will solve the problem. But afaik, LS 4.x will not receive any further update because due to the versioning scheme that LS follows LS 4.x had to be renamed to LS 5.x (new technical requirements necessary). So sooner or later you will have to go to LS 5 (it is basically just the continuation of LS 4, just the number changed).
I will see if I can test your file in my LS 5 and see if it works.

When trying to import your LSS into demo.limesurvey.org/admin/ (which runs on LS 5.0.4) I get the following error message:
Seems like there is something wrong with your survey languages.
500: Internal Server Error
Error while saving group: Array
(
[gid] => Array
(
[0] => Group ID (gid): “71” already set with language ”en”.
)

Your survey was imported to the Demo, but there are no questions in it. They probably have not been imported due to the error. Strange.
Are you able to import your LSS back into your LS 4.x installation?
Just tried to import it into my LS 5.0.5 and no error message there. Now I will need to test your survey to see if the problem can be reproduced.

OK, so i tested in LS 5.0.5 and I can reproduce the issue.
When you rank the items, it picks the correct code with {Rank_1}, but when using {Rank_1.shown} it always gives the English name of the answer, no matter if you are in the German or the English version.
Sounds like a bug to me. Please create a bug report and also add your LSS to the bug report.

I can import my LSS into LS 4.6.3 , behavior is the same including the error.
Will create a bug report. Thank you so much for your assistance, holch!

Same here, with a single choice : it's OKOK, so i tested in LS 5.0.5 and I can reproduce the issue.
