Hi,
We are doing a survey which is anonymous and does not collect email, IP, etc. We will be giving it to companies to distribute to employees to complete. Then we will provide them summary of responses.
As a separate effort, we will do reporting on the aggregate responses across all companies. To do this, we need to combine the responses we got from each company. Not sure how to do this.
I see in LimeSurvey:
  • A way to archive a survey (structure plus responses) or a structure (structure only), and create a new survey by importing.
  • A way to export individual responses to a csv, xlsx, etc.
I do not see (and want either one of these, or another method):
  • A way to import the responses only from an archive (can only create new survey with the responses)
  • A way to import responses into a survey from a csv, xcxls, etc.
Is there way to do this?
 Thanks!-ub

You can export VV file from each survey, and import it in a global survey
manual.limesurvey.org/Import_responses#Import_a_VV_survey_file

Remind : don't import 2 times.

Why would you want to import the answers back into LS?

The reporting/analysis features of Limesurvey are limited. I would always use an external tool to analyze the data (Excel, SPSS, PowerBI, etc.).

There you can just use the CSV/Excel exports of your surveys and join them into one file.

I answer at the LimeSurvey forum in my spare time, I'm not a LimeSurvey GmbH employee.

Yes, agreed hotch, we not even use it in the end. I'm new to limesurvey and exploring all the ways I can do things, so I can plan strategically with a full understanding. Thanks! -billb
