Hello dear Community,

this is a question from a limesurvey-beginnner.  well do i need to have a

- respondent database ( which contains mail-adresses and other things more )
-  (a more or less complete ) email -setup-configuration

what about a very first test survey that i will send to my team mates  - in other words - what about a Link  that is sent via E-Mail ?!

doesn t this fit all the needs for a very first test!?

look forward to hear from you

regards wp-fan 2099

update   i just have activated the survey: i did it :

Die Umfrage wurde aktiviert. Die Ergebnis-Tabelle wurde erfolgreich erstellt.
Diese Umfrage ist jetzt aktiv und Antworten können erfasst werden.
Offener Teilnehmerkreis: Es wird kein Zugangsschlüssel für die Teilnahme an der Umfrage benötigt.
Sie können den Teilnehmerkreis dieser Umfrage geschlossen halten, indem sie eine Teilnehmer-Tabelle anlegen.

well does this mean
a. that i can create a table with respondents now!? is this still possible?
b. that i can do this or
c. that i can send a link to the survey - to each of me team mates!?

either by e-mail or by Whatapp

love to hear from you
regards

You have two options to run a survey in Limesurvey: open and closed.

For an open survey anyone who has the link can respond. You have no control over who respondents and generally also not over how often someone responds (there are cookies, but they are not reliable).

For a closed survey you need to create a token table, each respondent receives an individual link including the individual token or you can send the general link and then they are asked for the token when entering. You can make a survey closed during activation.

So no, you do not need to create a token / particpant table. But if you do, they survey will be closed.

Help us to help you!
  • Provide your LS version and where it is installed (own server, uni/employer, SaaS hosting, etc.).
  • Always provide a LSS file (not LSQ or LSG).
Note: I answer at this forum in my spare time, I'm not a LimeSurvey GmbH employee.
