Yes, in Limesurvey in German this is called a Matrix type question (Array in English).

hello again 

good day dear holch. One more question; i am currently working on a survey - and i wonder how to create a fully fledged - that is a full - and with all aspects that are needed - queston that a matrix question needs. 

see below   

well i have the items - see the lines that are marked blue. 
question - how to add the rating scale?! I do not know how to do that?!

where to add the rating-scale to this question type.?! 

sehr schlecht 
schlecht 
and so on and so forth... 

where can i add these kind of ratings"?

That is the subquestion (rows) screen. You also need to add answers (columns).

well do you mean these buttons ( in German we  call it "Schaltflächen" - do i need to go there and do i need t use these to get to the option to add the ratings

No, Beschriftungssätze sind "Labels" die man wiederverwenden kann. Darüber kann man es machen, aber man muss es nicht, wenn die Labels sowieso nicht so oft verwendet wird.

"Schnelles Hinzufügen" wäre die schnellste Option, ohne erst eine Label-Vorlage ("Beschriftungsset") zu erstellen.

 

Wenn du eine Matrix/Array-Frage neu erstellt hast, moniert LS an, dass du sowohl Subquestions als auch Answer options anlegen musst. Das kannst du dort machen, wo LS sich beschwert, oder oben rechts auf die Buttons klicken.

Sorry, I read "Beschriftungssätze" and my brain switched to German... hahahaha

So once you create a array type question and save it, Limesurvey will give you two warnings. One that you need to add answer options and the other one that you need to add subquestions, because the question type will not work without both (see screenshot in my previous post).

Once you are on the screen where you can add the answer options you have a couple of possibilities:
 

You can add your answer options one by one if you write your answer option in the text field and then click + for the next one.

Or you can use "quick add" where you can copy a list of answer options, e.g from Excel. Or you can use an existing label set or you can create a label set from the answer options you have created for this question.

well - at the moment i still sutck

 

my problem is that i manage to add more "qutestions - but i cannot find the way to add the ratings to the rows -  see below
in the image that i have added here - you can see - that i manage to add even more questions with the quick edit - but i cannot add any of the ratings...

Hi,
as @holch wrote already, after creating a question of type array (Matrix) you are reminded to add "subquestions" and "answer options".
 

And now I continue in German.
Erstens kannst Du beide anklicken und wirst direkt hingeleitet.
Gut, die Teilfragen hast Du ja eingetragen.
Fehlen also die "Antwortoptionen". Die findest Du genau neben den Teilfragen im Menue hier.
 

Und dann werden die eben eingetragen
 

It is up to you if you enter option by option, or use the quick add feature.
But as you are using some kind of a scale you should use numerical codes. Some day you want to calculate some statistical values like "mean", "std.deviation", ... or do some statistical tests like "t-test", "ANOVA" or whatever.

hi there - good day dear Joffm - wow also bilingual - great!

well this board is overwhelmingly surprising. many thanks for the great support and for encouraging me to go ahead.

now i recognized the errors here - and the mistake. i have mixed up

a. matrix with
b. Matrix (5 Punkte Auswahl)

in the first case you get the option to add Antwortoptionen - in the latter not

Exactly, the just "array" question is the flexible one. You can choose your own labels.

Some of the other array questions (e.g. 5 point) are basically special, predefined "array" question.

I personally have never used these. In my opinion they could be deleted, but they have always been there and if LS would delete them, you can be sure that there are some users complaining. So they stay, probably for eternity... :-)
