Date format issue with export was created by S2_EducaNum
Hello,
I have recently changed my old 2.6 LimeSurvey to 4.3 version and something annoying appears.
In my form, there are questions with date (like birthdate, timestamp, ...). In the past, when exporting to .xls, date format were perfectly correct (we use DD.MM.YYYY).
Now, with the 4.3 version, I'm not able to get anything else than a YYYY-MM-DD format. As I saw in this old topic , export keeps the database format.
But, it's only true for an export to .xlsx, the .csv one works fine.
Is there any solution about that? I mean, anything else than going to Excel, select columns > Data > Text to Columns
Thanking you in advance for your answers, I wish you a merry Christmas and an happy New Year!

But it is easy to handle.
After exporting this entry
I got
Here I propose the same as in the thread you mentioned
Add a column after the date with the formula: "=LEFT(ZS(-1);10)*1" and a "Format: date" will result in:

Hello,
Thank you for your fast reply.
To clarify a bit my request, we are a school with almost 3,000 students. LimeSurvey is used for registration purposes.
Exports and data processing are made by our secretaries. Technically speaking, I can understand that an operation is needed on the column, but I can't respond like this, because it will not be considerate as an adequate answer for them, nor for our Director.
So, the real question is : why date format is exporting correctly with CSV file, but needs an operation with XLSX file? It's just about a simple PHP date() convertion, isn't it?
In any case, I thank you again for you reply and I remain open of any simplification.

Hi,
You should file a feature request.
We can only advice to work around.
BUT:
If I export as "*.csv" with "csv field separator: semicolon" I can open the file in EXCEL by double clicking it and I get this

In this case you address the wrong people. It's just about a simple PHP date() convertion, isn't it?

And you have seen that LS 4.3 is not considered stable yet, right? You should have changed to LS 3.x.I have recently changed my old 2.6 LimeSurvey to 4.3 version and something annoying appears.

My opinion : since we use xlsx : we can export as real datetime format for excel.
Need a bug report/feature request
