Show users unfilled surveys list? was created by fsabiu
Hi all,
I'm configuring LimeSurvey 4.1.8 and I'm looking for a way to:
- Set a group of LimeSurvey users as unique participants of the survey
- Show them only a list of surveys to be filled, without neither view nor edit permissions on the survey itself.

Is it possible?

Thanks in advance,
Francesco

I'm configuring LimeSurvey 4.1.8 and I'm looking for a way to:

Please keep in mind that LS 4.x is not stable yet and should not be used in productive environments yet. If you plan on running real surveys anytime soon, please install LS 3.x LTS for now.

- Set a group of LimeSurvey users as unique participants of the survey

I am not quite sure what you are trying to do, but there is no "user" role in terms of respondents. You can only create user accounts for survey admins, not for survey takers.

For unique participants to a survey can use the token feature.

- Show them only a list of surveys to be filled, without neither view nor edit permissions on the survey itself.

There is no backend for users where they can see surveys that are available to them.

You can make certain surveys public, showing them on the index page of LS, but I don't think this is what you are looking for.

I answer at the LimeSurvey forum in my spare time, I'm not a LimeSurvey GmbH employee.

Firstly, thank you for the advise, I didn't notice that.

I neither noticed that participants does not have an account within the system.
So, I think I will do the following:
  • Participant users will have their account in an external application, which reads users from an LDAP service.
  • LimeSurvey administrators will generate the participant table for each survey by fetching the users from such LDAP folder.
  • Through APIs, the application will:
    1. Fetch the surveys whose participant table contains the logged user (together with their status).
    2. Fetch the links of the surveys of point 1.
    3. Show the logged user both the survey link and the relevant access code for each survey (distinguishing those having '0 uses left' for the current user from the other ones).

Do you think this is possible by means of LimeSurvey APIs?

I general, yes, but it may be quite a large request to have the API loop through all participants of all surveys to find if someone is registered for particular surveys.
