Select multiple answers in an array was created by VictoriaLawFoundation
Total newbie here (previous Qualtrics user). TBH finding it very hard to navigate the manual.
How do I set up an array, where respondents can select multiple answer options per row?
eg.
Q1 Who attended each event?
a. Party
b. Birthday
c. Holiday
d. Funeral
Answer options (select all that apply):
1. mum
2. dad
3. friends
4. partner
5. children

Hi,
even if you find it hard, you have to do it.
At least read the chapter about question types.
Here you find your answer (array(numbers with checkbox layout)
manual.limesurvey.org/Question_type_-_Ar...flexible_checkbox.29
Good luck

However, especially this "question setting", in my opinion should be a question type. I wouldn't look for checkboxes in the Array (Numbers) question type.

I agree with Joffm, at least a quick read through the question types will be a good investment of your time, because 20min reading there will save you a lot of time.Here you find your answer (array(numbers with checkbox layout)

yes, I actually have no idea how I would have even thought to look there for that answer.

Thanks for the answer.
I need to add another one: I'm trying to read the answer from a numeric array with checkbox style question. (I need to use it in a relevance equation, but also in the question itself)
Let's say, using the same example as before, I want to write "hi" in the next question if the mum attended the party.
I should write a code like {if((Q1_a_1)==1, 'Hi')}, right?
Then why it doesn't work? What am I doing wrong?
(
Thanks

So you should remove the brackets. And to be on the save side add the FALSE part
{if(Q1_a_1==1, "Hi","")}

I am sure there is no question code (Q1_a_1)Then why it doesn't work? What am I doing wrong?
