I have an 'open survey', but i want to send an invite out to a Group of participants.

(so it's open to public, but i just want to make sure a Group is invited...)

I want to just go to the survey, then tools> email to group..., or something like that...
I'd like to use the email template in the survey to email to the group.

You can use another survey (even not activated) to send email to a list of user.

I'm not a LimeSurvey GmbH member, professional service on demand , plugin development .
I don't answer to private message.

Thanks... but to elaborate...

A-I'm not trying to email users... as i said, i'm trying to email a 'Group' of PARTICIPANTS.

B-Also, if you meant participants, you didn't tell me HOW (That was my question).

1. Create a survey (another one)
2. Activate token in this survey
3. Select your group of particpant in Participant DB (by filtering)
4. Assign to the new survey
5. Remove SURVEYURL and replace by your open survey

Send the email.

OR : be more clear … remind : i give advice on my free time

Select your group of particpant in Participant DB (by filtering)

Or upload participants (your group) to the invitation survey via CSV.

Cheers,

In addition to that: You can use any mass email tool. For Mozilla Thunderbird there is "Mail Merge", I am sure Outlook will have a similar feature/plugin. There are also tools like Mailchimp, etc.

The advantage of using Limesurvey to send emails with tokens is to be able to follow the progress (who has been invited, who has already responded, who needs a reminder, etc.).

Otherwise, you can use any tool to send your invitation to respondents.

I answer at the LimeSurvey forum in my spare time, I'm not a LimeSurvey GmbH employee.
