I am using 2.6 version and I found 2.6 need more programming knowledge.
Could anyone teach me how to validate Single choice question? I guess should be using javascript. Thank you!


I tried to find some resource online, most of the resource online is version 3.X
I feel that i will have more challenge in future...
Can anyone share some useful resource (e.g. example, javascript example), so I can learn more on 2.6 version?

If it is mandatory, you will get an answer.

Or do you want to let the respondent click until he selects the right answer?

I saw that validation is available in version 3.x.

So as I said before, consider an update.

But if the respondent cannot proceed without clicking the right answer, why do you ask this question?
If it is only to have a stored answer you may autopunch this question by an equation.
Or either you only show the right answer in this question or you use a question of type text display to tell him the right answer.

Are we really talking about LS 2.6 or are we talking about LS 2.06 LTS?

I highly recommend to update from 2.6 to 3.x for a couple of reasons:

- 2.6 is not even the latest version of the 2.5x branch, you should be somewhere at 2.7x
- Your software hasn't received bug fixes and security updates for quite a while
- 2.5x was probably one of the worst releases of Limesurvey and I wouldn't want to use it in production.
- Very few people will be still working with 2.7x and thus it is difficult to help you with specific answers, because it is hard to tell what was possible in LS 2.7x and what was not.

Therefor I can only recommend to update to LS 3.x (DO NOT go to LS 4.x yet!!!).

The respondent could go back and choose the right answer if they get alert.

I agree it is a really old version...
Some of the plugin support 2.X version...so I cannot update to 3.X...

Actually I am using 3.X, but this is an old project so I have to keep using 2.6.4....

May I know how to set the validation for single choice question? Thank you!
