help text issue was created by reginab
Hi,
I'm having an issue with the help text.
I've added help text to a question located at the bottom of my survey (see Capture1)
When I click 'Show help text', everything is fine, and I can see the help text (see Capture2)
When I then click 'Hide help text' the page jumps and I am back at the top of the survey (see Capture3)
Is it possible to stop this happening?
Thanks,
Regina

We cannot possibly help with that without knowing how you implemented it. I don't think it's a core feature.

Hi Tony,
Sorry, I should have included how I implemented it.
Here are the steps I took:
1. I clicked Edit question
2. I added the text to the 'Help' textbox (see Capture1 attached below)
3. I clicked Save
4. The question is located at the bottom of my survey
5. Then when I click on 'Show help text', everything is fine, and I can see the help text (see Capture2 and Capture3 attached)
6. However, when I then click 'Hide help text' the page jumps and I am back at the top of the survey (see Capture4 attached)
Thanks,
Regina

Hi, Regina
this is not the standard behaviour.
In my opinion you or somebody else changed something in your theme.
Do you host LS yourself or is it something like a university installation?
Usually it looks like this
Therefore we ask how it is implemented.

Hi Joff,
Ah I see, thank you for explaining. We have a custom theme so that must be causing this issue.
Do you know where in the theme the help is implemented by any chance? (I didn't implement this theme)

No, sorry, I do not.
As it must be some javascript snippet you may search the "custom.js" or related "twig" files like "survey_question_help.twig".

Well, someone must be responsible for this custom theme, I think that is the person to ask. They will know better what they did and where they did it.
