Dear community,

I have a survey where I need to have random question group order whereas some question groups have random question order in them. The random group order feature works perfectly fine for me, but I struggle to make the random question order in the groups.

In the attachement you see two questions of a question group that should appear for each participant in a random order on the same page. I put them in the same random question group name (i.e. in the advanced settings: logic -> random group name) but if I test the survey the feature does not work.

Is this an error or are I the error?

Well, you didn't mention your version of LS, so here I showed in 3.22.2

As you know about randomization the sequence is never 1,2,1,2,1,2, but sometimes 1,1,1,1,1,2,2,1,1,2,2,2,1,2

I am aware of the random walk pattern. Tested it so many times that I would rather have won the lottery then that I had a 1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1 streak.


Is it possible that you cannot combine random group orders while having random question orders in some groups?

(I am using question group by question group setting.)

Please upload a LSS file with only the relevant questions included, so we can have a look at it.

I was able to solve it. It works now. Thank you for your concerns!

What I did:

Created new survey and used the copy function. Reset all my desired options and it works now.
