I'm thinking about purchasing the expert edition for a research study, and wanted to learn a little more about using the domain alias feature. We need to be able to set up 'friendly' URLs for a couple different surveys, something like:

, I think I understand how to set up the alias between our project domain and LimeSurvey, but I'm not clear on how much control we would have over a survey's specific url. Any advice would be appreciated.
Assistance on LimeSurvey forum and LimeSurvey core development are on my free time.

You should ask LimeSurvey-Support, if they go the extramile for you. But the normal setup will not allow such friendly URLs set by yourself.
I recommend to host a domain somewhere else and set the friendly URL directly to the individual survey links.
You still can use the same domain as alias domain (I recommend a subdomain e.g survey.yourdomain.tld) on LimeSurvey hosting service.
