Hello,
Can I export the given tokens as a variable in the results dataset SPSS for example with for each corresponding participant?

I have another dataset from the same participants with the tokens and I need to link them both using the tokens as the common variable.

Thanks alot.

Hi,
when you export to "csv" or "EXCEL" you can select the columns

and in the SPSS export it is done by default.

Hey Joffm,
Thanks alot for the quick reply.

When i Export i face the following problem in the exported dataset only a single digit is displayed in the token variable in SPSS.
And not the token(15 digits) that was used by the respective user to finish the survey.
In this case i have imported a participant list with existing tokens since it is a longitudinal study, and the tokens already exist from the last survey.

What happens in the Excel/CSV export? Does it also cut the other 14 digits?

Also: What is your version of Limesurvey?

Is the survey set to be non-anonymous. If not there is no connection between the data and the token table.

The syntax importfile might have the wrong length for the token variable and is cutting the token to length of one. The generated syntax file for importing into SPSS was seldom without bugs like this.

Hi,
I exported a recent survey to SPSS 21 and without changing anything I got the following result.
Of course "not anonymous"

If you have this strange result, please send your syntax file and a few lines of the datafile.
So we can check

Best regards

As Tony said:
If you set your survey to be "anonymous" there is no way to match the data of the answer table with the participants table.
That's the reason to set it to "anonymous".
www.limesurvey.org/manual/Activating_a_survey
Here you read:
  • Anonymyzed responses: This option allows you to determine whether responses to your survey are matched up with information from your survey's token table, or kept "anonymous". If you decide to enable it, your survey is set to anonymize responses - there will be no way to connect answers and participants;

You said, you get a variable in SPSS called "token", but with only one digit.
So obviously you did not set it to "anonymous", though you still didn't answer that question.
You see this in the "survey list" under "Anonymized responses".

So again:
Provide your syntax file and a few lines of the data file.

Best regards

Hey Joffm,

Sorry for not clearing this point the survey is not set to anonymoized responses, also it should work normally, i have checked also the variables in SPSS, and the length is set to 15 also correct. the thing is that i do not see an output as in your screen pic but all the variables before the token show wired results.
i can send you the syntax file. but as for the dataset i am not authorized to share the data or a part of it.

Greetings,
