Filtering results in a matrix was created by freierverband
Hey guys,

I made a survey and it's my first time using limesurvey so I really have to ask:

We are comparing different universities and our problem is filtering the results.

When we want to see the results for one certain university it is not possible, because the "output-excel" adds all results together. Is there a way to to filter the results dependend on one question of the survey?
If you need further information just let me know, I would really appreciate your help.

Kind regards,

K M

Hi,
please always remember: LimeSurvey is a data collection tool, not a statistic tool.
These things you do in your data analysis tool, where you create your cross tabs, calculate your statistical tests, and so on.

A way to do it is:
In the answer table filter your selected university

then select these and export:

In the export screen you see your selection

In my opinion the much better way is to export the entire dataset and do all filtering in your statistic tool.

I agree with Joffm.

Export the whole dataset, filter the data based on the university and create your different datasets, if necessary.

The "statistics" / reporting part in Limesurvey is good for getting a first glimpse of results during the field work, but for analysing your data, you should use tools that are made for this purpose, like SPSS/PSPP or even Excel.
