...can't seem to get the answer to the following question from the Lime manual:

Is there any way to create the [custom] participant attributes other than to manually go into Manage Attributes and add them through the "Add fields" button? I was hoping to just be able to specify them (including their Field Descriptions) in a CSV file as I'm working to alter a survey that requires these although I won't know exactly how many until I do some testing.

To create the custom attributes you need to use the GUI, afaik.

CSV file only for uploading the attributes of the respondents. But for that to work, the custom attributes need to be created already for that.

Thanks for confirming. I couldn't see any way to do this in an alternative manner either. It's not too much trouble other than having to change things a good bit since I have about 40 or so variables I'm working with and since I haven't done this before I need to keep changing things as I'm developing.
