Recurring Surveys

Recurring Surveys was created by ymcan
I need to create a quarterly survey for our staff. Can I set LimeSurvey up to copy a specific survey, enable it for 2 weeks, and email all the participants a token every three months? (Or something similar to that.) That way I can just download the data and compare the survey results every quarter.

I think I once saw a way of doing this, but I now can't find it anywhere.

Your post is quite confusing and doesn't make it very clear what you are actually trying to do or where your problem is.
- You can copy any survey [check]
- You can enable a survey for 2 weeks [check]
- You can email participants tokens [check]
- You can download data and compare it in an external data analysis tool [check]

Not sure what you want to know, actually?

Sorry for causing any confusion. Let me try to clarify what I meant:

I know I can do all those steps manually. However I want to repeat the same survey every three month without having to do the first three steps manually (downloading data an comparing I can do manually). So I guess I am looking for some kind of 'recurring frequency' option that I can set to three months, causing the participants to be automatically emailed with a link to that quarter's survey. (I am not even sure if I will need to copy the survey, maybe this can be done without copying it.)

Essentially the end of every financial quarter participants have two weeks to fill in the survey, and then three months later they are asked to fill in the same survey again, and three months later again, etc., etc.

Hope that is clearer.

You can't automate this completely.

You can create your survey, activate it for 2 weeks, send the tokens. You can up the "uses left" of the tokens. Once the 2 weeks are over, you expire the survey. Then next quarter you open it again and you resend the tokens.

You will need to do these steps manually. I don't see any automatism and I am also not sure if you could automate this via a plugin.

But doing those steps every quarter shouldn't be too much work. In 10-15min this should be done.

Thank you very much that is really helpful. At least I know I don't have to look further and will just have to put it in my diary to every quarter.

Hi, with a little bit experience in php you can automate some more:

Create a small script, that:
  • changes the start date and expire date in table "lime_surveys".
  • sets the "uses left" in table "lime_tokens_[SurveyID]"
  • sends the new invitations with tokens.

Then create a cron job which runs the script each 1st of a quarter.

Best regards
