Delphi Survey was created by Christalle
Hello,

I am planning to do an online delphi survey. This means first I have a usual survey (rate the relevance of different items on a scale from 1 to 9).

Then there is a second round. Here the participants see 1. how they rated the item in the first round and 2. the median of all ratings of this iem from the first round. Then they are asked to rate again.

My question: That part where their own rating is shown, can I do that automatically? E.g. can I use the expression manager to show replies from a former survey?

Also I found a handbook for a delphi survey plugin, but it does not seem to exist anymore (or at least I was not able to find that plugin).

I am using LimeSurvey Version Version 2.72.3

Thank you very much and kind regards
Eva

You cannot access previous response data from within the survey. You will need to make an AJAX call to a remote PHP script that access the database directly for that information.

Thank you very much. Sounds like some effort but possible. Do you have any recommendations where I can go on reading? Unfortunately I do not know much about PHP and how to use an AJAX.

Or if the surveys are not live at the same time you could download the data and then upload the scores etc as token fields ... if they are live at the same time then just put them both in one survey and use the expression manager?

This sounds good. The two surveys will not be live at the same time.

I would also go the way Dave is recommending. You create custom token fields for the responses and then pipe it into your survey via Expression Manager. This is for sure the easiest way. Not 100% automatic, but you just need to create a good csv file for the token table and upload it. Should be doable and fairly quick.

I answer at the LimeSurvey forum in my spare time, I'm not a LimeSurvey GmbH employee.

That is definitely sufficiently automatic. Thank you. :-)

Without any additional coding the approach to add previous data at additional token attributes is the only way. You need to manually copy the data as mentioned  and can then use placeholders within the survey to show the previous ratings.

We have dealt with such delphi surveys at medical research in the past and followed tpartner's approach: We had coded a fully automated version and also integrated charts. Not only do the charts visualize how others have rated certain items, we also added a red dot to idnicate the participant's  answer from the previous round:
