I already read in another thread that it's possible to hide a following short text question and insert it into an array if I want to add a subquestion with an textfield (for "other") in an array.

I tried to do that but nothing happens in my survey. I think it's because the sturcture of my survey is: question by question (considering the number of questions in my survey it would be a lot of work changing it to a group by group survey).

So is there another way to insert a new row with a textfield at the end of an array or a multiflex array (numbers)?
I'd be grateful for some help

You want to integrate the open answer in your array.

IMO no respondent will enter something and rate it like "I never use it".
Always better just to ask in a separate question: "If there are other tools you use frequently, please enter here."

Well, we did not talk about a rating in a "following" question.

I am not able to tell you how to do what you want to do.

I just asked you to consider how to analyse this kind of question.
Many different wordings, same meaning, many mentions which should have been in the precoded items (respondents are not willing or not able to abstract), many "laufende Läuse" (Nennungen, die nur ein- oder zweimal auftauchen )


But it's up to you.

Just one idea. (Printed questionnaires always look appealing, but the programming somtimes has to do its own solutions).
Split it into three multiple questions with others (Neubau, Umbau, Sanierung)

There is no way to insert the text input if using question-by-question mode. When manipulating elements via JavaScript, all elements must exist within a single page.
