Connect to the MySQL DB using SSL was created by kbrooke

We are using LimeSurvey in AWS and want to encrypt the APP -> DB connection.
I have added

'attributes' => array(
PDO::MYSQL_ATTR_SSL_CAPATH => '/tmp/test/rds-combined-ca-bundle.pem',
),

to the db array in the config, however this is not working.

It is possible to enable SSL communications to the DB, if so, what am I missing?
