Limited Randomized Groups with Conditions was created by BBCMResearch
Apologies for asking the forum yet another question on randomized groups. I've been reading through several dozen posts, but I can't find the answer I need.

In my survey, I have two question groups, Group 1 & Group 2.

In Group 1, there is one question, Q1, a 5 point array with 9 subquestions 1-9.

In Group 2, I have 9 more questions, Q2-10, that correspond to Q1_1 - Q1_9. Each is a 4 point array with 8 subquestions, 1-8

I need to randomly display a total of 3 questions from group 2, but only one question per page, and ONLY if the corresponding subquestion in Q1 was answered first.

I can very easily do this with relevance status and a randomization group IF all 3 questions in Group 2 are displayed on one page, but if I set the survey to display question by question, all I get is 3 blank screens.

I considered putting each individual question in Group 2 into their own groups and read this workaroundthis workaround involving a hidden randomization equation question, but since there are conditions on these questions making them dependent on responses in Q1, I don't believe that work around will fix my particular problem.

I think a more advanced hidden randomization equation might work, but I don't know what it would look like, and would greatly appreciate your help.

Hi,

here an example Tony provided some time ago.

I adapted a bit to your problem.

You said

and ONLY if the corresponding subquestion in Q1 was answered first.

So I think these are not mandatory. But it doesn't matter. Just change the relevance.

Your following questions which also are arrays here only short text.
But I think the type of question is not relevant.
You see the trick.

Best regards
Joffm
