Is it possible to create a multiple collection groups for a survey? For example, I have one survey and I want to collect responses from two locations and would like to be able to identify which location the survey result came from. The question on the survey will be the same for each location, so although I could create two surveys, however that will not be an efficient process.

Thank you

That depends on the way to invite people to your survey.
1. You can use tokens to identify every single respondent. But then every person needs a special link.
2. You can add a variable to the URL, so that location one has a slightly different Link that location two.

Something like this
Location one: " www.limesurvey.org/test.php?L=A "
Location two: " www.limesurvey.org/test.php?L=B "

www.limesurvey.org/manual/URL_fields#Start_URL

The L=A or L=B is saved with the other answers in the responses.

Building on Jelo's answer: You can use one token per location with uses left set to a very high number. Then you can identify the location based on the token used.

Help us to help you!
  • Provide your LS version and where it is installed (own server, uni/employer, SaaS hosting, etc.).
  • Always provide a LSS file (not LSQ or LSG).
Note: I answer at this forum in my spare time, I'm not a LimeSurvey GmbH employee.
