Group tokens for tracking origin of survey respondents?

Hello there. We're considering using LimeSurvey for an upcoming project and would like to know how to track the origin of a survey respondent and whether this is something we might use tokens for. Apologies if the answer is already documented here somewhere, I struggled to find anyone with a similar request in past forum posts.

We have a number of different groups of individuals we will be sending the survey out to and we want to make sure that we are able to track the origin of respondents from these groups.

Initially I thought we might be able to do this using tokens (a different token for each group) but as far as I can tell tokens can't be reused and since we won't have a full list of emails for the groups we're posting to we're not able to create custom tokens for each potential respondent to the survey.

Is something like this possible with LimeSurvey? If so, how do I do it :) ?

Many thanks
Arfon

Hi, arfon,

just use a token attribute like "respgroup".

Survey participants / Manage attribute fields

You can reuse tokens. You can set the amount of uses in the token list. That way the token can be distributed by group members.

Thanks for the pointers @Joffm and @jelo! I didn't realize it was possible to re-use a token so that should work well.
