I am using the limesurvey version 2.50+
i want to use username or email address for login in limesurvey, how to do that ??
right now it working based on username only.

There is not setting to change that behavior.
So you might create a feature request or modify the php code by yourself.
To get some hints from devs you might open a feature request anyway. The devs are not always reading the forum.

the problem is that today the login is based on the plugin system, which has its very own "logic". So it's pretty hard to read the code and understand how it's working.

For what you're trying to do, you should work in this method:

Use email as username (already done a lot ....).

Remind : user can update email, but not username.

we will restrict the email address as non editable,, but can you show the path how to implement this ?

It's just at user creation : i use email adress in login

yup, that i thought already, but how i want is , the user can login using the username and email address provided at the time of user creation,

for ex , at the time of creation i am giving
username: test
email : test@test.com
password : test

after creating above user , when log in i can use username/pwd or email/pwd , both these should allow me logged in.
