This has been asked many times in the forums. There is no "looping" in LimeSurvey.

You will first need to insert a question asking how many people. Then you add as many question groups as the maximum possible people and use conditions/relevance to show the groups depending on the answer to the "how many" question.

So, for example, the relevance for the first group would be "Q1 > 0", the second group "Q1 > 1" and so on.

there is a good example for that in one of the demo surveys.
Exactly the problem: "How many childs" -> How old is your 1. child? - "How old is your 2. child?"
