I'm rather new to LimeSurvey - I've been working with it for only a few days - so I apologize in advance.
What I'm looking to do is create a question that is like the following:
What are the various sources of energy used for running your irrigation system?
(Check all that apply)
Electricity
Percentage of total________
Diesel
Percentage of total________
Propane
Percentage of total ________
Renewable energy sources (digested materials, solar, wind, etc.)
Percentage of total________ Type__________
Other
Please specify___________
I've tried using the Multiple Choice with comments, but for some reason it won't let you change the label text of the comment - in fact it seems to hide that label completely.
Any thoughts on whether this can be done in LimeSurvey?
You are mixing several question types which is not really doable with Limesurvey. For the first part where participants have to enter the percentages you can simply use a multiple numeric question and tell users to leave the input field blank if they don't use a certain energy type.
For certain options you can link follow up text questions conditionally e.g. to specify "other" choice.
